UK Announces Detailed Restart Plan For Students, Faculty And Staff

uknow.uky.edu

University of Kentucky officials have announced the school’s restart plan for students, staff, and faculty.  The plan moves up the anticipated start of classes, calls for widespread mask use, and includes robust COVID-19 testing.

UK’s restart plan for August calls for a return to a residential campus experience.  Key parts of the plan include in-person classes beginning August 17th, a week earlier than first proposed, student coronavirus testing, daily assessment for symptoms, and mask wearing in most campus areas.

The plan also gives attention to high risk individuals and contact tracing and quarantining.  Classes will be held on Labor Day, there will be no fall break, and semester classes will end at Thanksgiving break.  Coronavirus infection rates will be monitored on campus and in the community.

Social distancing, maintaining six feet of distance, should be optimized at all times, unless required activities dictate otherwise.?
