Eastern Kentucky University is moving toward the public phase of a $50 million capital fundraising campaign. EKU Board of Regents got a promising update during their meeting Monday.
EKU Interim Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations Dan McBride told regents almost $30 million had been raised through last month. That exceeds by $4 million the stated goal of this time. A campaign slogan of quote “Make No Little Plans” will launch in the fall 2019.
Regents also received a report on student retention and graduation. EKU Vice President for Student Success Gene Palka says EKU has the highest freshmen retention rate of all the state’s universities.
And the regents also approved suspension of Eastern’s graduate program in school psychology. Department officials will explore offering the program with an on line format.
