UK Pres. Capilouto Talks Construction, Research, Football with Rotarians

wkyt.com

University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto has reviewed details about campus building projects totaling more than $2 billion. There were also lighter moments in his Thursday speech to Lexington Rotarians.

Capilouto talked about how the historic construction on the Lexington campus has meant thousands of jobs and millions in state and local tax revenues.

But he began his remarks acknowledging a prayer during which Rotarian Sasha Higgins concluded by asking "double blessings" on the 0-2 UK football team.  “Sasha I appreciate that customized prayer, from your lips to God’s ears.  If we turn this thing around, I’m in your prayer circle,” said Capilouto.

Later the UK president said he has confidence football team chemistry will come, saying he’ll be at the game Saturday and adding he hoped club members would also be there.

Capilouto says the school’s research enterprise carries a $580 million annual economic effect.  ?
