UK Provost Heading to New England

University of Kentucky Provost Kumble Subbaswamy is heading to New England.  He has accepted a job as Chancellor at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  Subbaswamy has served as provost at UK since 2006.  In a news release, the Amherst Board of Trustees described Subbaswamy as ‘a proven academic leader who will guide the Amherst campus to new heights..he has the experience, vision, intellect and drive to move the flagship campus forward.”  Subbaswamy was one of four finalists for the position.  He had previously been a finalist for the presidency at Iowa State University and the University of Utah.
