Eastern Standard for December 5, 2019

A full 40 percent of the student body at Eastern Kentucky University is comprised of first generation students. WEKU reporters Stu Johnson, Samantha Morrill and Wendy Barnett join Tom Martin in exploring the challenges: from the concerns of families and the experience of being a stranger in a strange place, to arriving on campus from a foster care setting, or as a young parent. And, moving the four year degree to within reach of Appalachian youth. Plus, a fast track to a GED.
