Chemical Weapons & Bluegrass Army Depot on Eastern Standard

Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program

Beginning in the 1940's the U.S. Army stored chemical weapons at the Bluegrass Army Depot near Richmond.  At the order of Congress and in compliance with the international Chemical Weapons Convention, the materials at the site are slated for destruction.

On this week's show, we'll get an update on the process and the progress at the Bluegrass Army Depot.  Your questions, comments and stories are welcome at: wekueasternstandard@gmail.com.  Call and leave your message at 859-622-1657, post on the WEKU Facebook page or follow the show and send us a tweet @wekuEST.

Then join us for Eastern Standard, Thursday morning at 11:00 on WEKU.  The show will be available for online listening and for download as a podcast later Thursday.  It will also be repeated Sunday evening at 6:00 on the WEKU stations.
