Lexington Police Investigate Two Murders Within 12 Hours Of Each Other

Two weekend deaths in Lexington, occurring within 12 hours of each other, are being investigated by police.

David Godbold, 56,  was found dead Saturday night in his Elm Tree Lane home, suffering from sharp trauma injuries.  Sunday morning police found Carroll Martin, 51, lying in the 700 block of Florence with multiple gunshot wounds.  He later died at the hospital.   Witnesses described the possible suspect as a black man with a beard, seen running toward Douglas Avenue.

Lexington Police Sergeant Donnell Gordon said the two crimes are not thought to be related. “Our thing is that we believe that these are possible disputes among the individuals with the suspect.  So, we believe they are isolated in that sense,” noted Gorton

Gordon said police are asking for any additional information.  He said with technology today, people could have some surveillance to pass on to investigators.?
