Madison County Experiences Its Highest One Week Coronavirus Count

Madison County Health Department

The amount of coronavirus activity in Madison County remains at a very high level. Madison County Health Department Public Information Officer Kelley McBride said last week’s figures caught her off guard.

“When I received the information about the most recent report, I was hoping it was a typo, to tell you the truth,” said McBride.

McBride said 978 COVID-19 cases were reported in Madison County from September 13th through the 19th. She noted the previous high a few weeks ago was just over 700. She added the health department website has information about vaccination sites. “And you can put in a zip code and you can find available providers of vaccine within a ten-mile radius or 20 mile radius,” noted McBride.

McBride said Madison County is deeply set in the red category as it relates to COVID spread. The health department representative added there’s been an ever so slight reduction in the disease incidence rate.
