2nd Annual East Kentucky Cyber Summit

The Eastern Kentucky Cyber Summit, hosted by Big Sandy Community & Technical College, is a one-day regional event focused on cybersecurity awareness, workforce development, and identifying resources available for professionals and businesses. The summit highlights the growing urgency of cybersecurity across small businesses, government, and large organizations.

Opening remarks from Dr. Samuel Todd Brand set the stage for a day focused on practical security strategies, evolving cyber threats, and the importance of workforce development. Speakers from industry, academia, and agencies like Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency emphasized real-world protections, the increasing role of AI in cyberattacks, and available resources to strengthen defenses. The summit concludes with a focus on future trends and training pathways, reinforcing the need for collaboration to build a stronger cybersecurity landscape in Kentucky.
