Hitachi Bringing 200 Jobs To Southern Madison County

HItachi Automotive Company

The Hitachi Company will expand it’s manufacturing footprint in southern Madison County.  Governor Beshear announced Thursday the firm is establishing a new 200 job operation in Berea to build motors for electric vehicles.

The governor said it will create job opportunities in Madison and surrounding counties. “It also positions us as a state to not only better serve the automotive industry which has so many facilities in Kentucky, but to be on the cutting edge of the future of that industry,” said Beshear

A sister company Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas’ plant will undergo partial renovation.  Electric motor production could begin anytime between April in 2022 and the following spring.  In addition to the two existing plants in Madison County, Hitachi also has two operations in Harrodsburg.
