The Kentucky Retail Federation said a national survey found retailers expecting a 35% increase in mobile orders.
Association Public Affairs Director Steve McCain said another survey went out to the 1,400 people in Kentucky.
“Most of an overwhelming majority said that the local economy was better or the same as last year and that they anticipated holiday sales to be equal or better than last year. So, they were expecting things to kind of hold their own or maybe improve a little bit,” said McCain.
Tom Underwood, Kentucky state director of the National Federation of Independent Business, said an increasing number of retailers took part in Small Business Saturday this past weekend. Underwood noted many mom and pop retailers understand the value of online sales. “Really in today’s world market you’ve got to be selling online. You’ve got to follow what the consumer trends are and the consumers are saying that they want to do more online and from home shopping,” explained Underwood.
