Jobless Rates Fall In 115 Kentucky Counties

Unemployment fell in the vast majority of Kentucky counties between August of 2017 and this past month.  Jobless rates dropped in 115 counties over the past year.

Boone, Campbell, and Woodford recorded the lowest jobless figures at 3.1 percent each.  Right behind at 3.2 percent was Fayette, Kenton, and Oldham counties.  Magoffin recorded the state’s highest unemployment rate for August at 11.7 percent.

Kentucky’s county jobless numbers and employment levels are not seasonably adjusted due to small sample sizes.  Unemployment statistics are based on estimates and are compiled to measure trends rather than actually to count people working.?
