Beshear to Lead Trade Mission to Canada

gcxmag.com

Gov. Steve Beshear will lead a springtime trade mission to Canada in hopes of finding more markets for Kentucky products.

The governor's office says the trade mission is set for May 25-30.

It will focus on increasing commerce and building relationships between Kentucky's small businesses and the Canadian market. The Kentucky delegation will make stops in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto.

Canada is Kentucky's largest international trade partner.

The governor's office says the state exported more than $7.6 billion in products and services to Canada last year. Top exports include motor vehicles, auto parts and aerospace products.

The mission follows another record export year for Kentucky. Exports of Kentucky-made products and services during 2014 totaled $27.5 billion. Kentucky exported to 191 nations last year.
