250 Jobs Coming to Lexington

An international law firm is expected to bring more than 200 jobs to the Lexington community.  Bingham McCutchen announced Wednesday plans to open a shared services center next spring.  Company officials say the center will eventually house about 250 employees, who will be relocating from Bingham offices or hired from the Lexington area.  The move is tied to pending state and local economic development incentives.  The Bingham Global Services Center will be situated in office space in the University of Kentucky’s Coldstream Research Complex.  The law firm has committed more than 22 million dollars in establishing the center.  Company C-E-O L. Tracee Whitley says it selected Lexington because of access to a dynamic workforce, a developed academic community, and a vibrant quality of life.  Lexington Mayor Jim Gray called the Bingham McCutchen move with 250 jobs the largest impact on the community since the recession began in 2008.
