The Federal Emergency Management Agency is expanding who is eligible for assistance this week after last month’s severe storms.
Homeowners and renters in Woodford and Leslie counties affected by storms can apply for individual assistance.
Estill, Lee and Owsley counties are also eligible for all forms of public assistance, which includes debris removal and more direct federal help.
Another disaster recovery center opened in Estill County Tuesday at Irvine City Hall. That brings the total number of centers in the southeast Kentucky region to thirteen.
Those centers help those affected with in-person support, including how to apply for assistance programs.
A map of FEMA disaster centers is available online. Storm victims can also apply for assistance online, by using the FEMA mobile app or by calling 800-621-3362. Those using relay services should give FEMA the number for that service.
