A MARTÍNEZ, HOST:

Good morning. I'm A Martínez.

The NBA has announced its finalists for seven end-of-the-season awards, including most valuable player, defensive player of the year and rookie of the year. The league plans to announce the winners of each category starting on Tuesday, April 23, during TNT's coverage of this year's NBA playoffs. Now, the finalists for MVP this year are Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.
