55-megawatt Solar Facility Planned For Taylor County

An independent power producer with hundreds of renewable energy projects around the country has selected Taylor County for its latest solar farm.

Flat Run Solar has plans to build a 55-megawatt facility in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

The merchant solar company plans to use the former agricultural site to generate power for sale in wholesale electricity markets. Flat Run expects it will create two to three full time jobs with the project.

State utility regulators approved Flat Run’s application last week.
