A $2.4 million federal grant is going to a Kentucky recovery program with two decades of experience. It comes as Isaiah House also opens a new 28 bed women’s residential treatment facility near Versailles.
Isaiah House provides residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment programs in Washington County. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grant is expected to help serve more than six-thousand Kentuckians over five years. Isaiah House Founder Mark LaPalme said the faith-based provider is a bit unusual in being licensed and nationally accredited.
“We’ve got 30 licensed professional clinical counselors and social workers and so we think there’s a good integration that can happen. We shouldn’t avoid each other. We should partner,”
LaPalme said the establishment of the Recovery Career Network will help to bring all resources together. “There’s going to be a lot of collaboration about recovery, so treatment. Outpatient, intensive outpatient. Medication assisted treatment and then connecting that to the resources of education, workforce development, soft skills training, and actual employment,” explained LaPalme.
The project provides for career coaching, skills training, and job placement services for people leaving treatment and returning to the community.
