A federal judge has decided to reconsider his rejection of President Donald Trump's free speech defense against a lawsuit accusing him of inciting violence against protesters at a campaign rally.WDRB-TV reports U.S. District Court Judge David J. Hale on Wednesday amended his March 31 order that allowed the lawsuit to move forward. He ordered the case put on hold while the free speech issue is decided.
Trump's lawyers are seeking to dismiss the lawsuit by three protesters who say they were roughed up by his supporters at a 2016 rally in Kentucky.
Hale noted in the amended ruling that Trump and his attorneys have "registered their displeasure" about the March ruling in various ways and said the court felt it necessary to consider the appeal.
