WEKU to carry Obama News Conference, KET Storm Special & Super Tuesday results

WEKU will broadcast three special news programs in the afternoon and evening of Tuesday March 6, 2012.Presidential News Conference

In his first news conference in three months, President Obama is expected to discuss the situation in Syria, concerns about Iran’s disputed nuclear program, and the U.S. economy this afternoon.

WEKU presents “live” coverage of the president’s meeting with reporters, hosted by NPR’s Jennifer Ludden at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon.

KET Storm Recovery Special

Last Friday’s severe storms killed at least 21 Kentuckians and disrupted the lives of many others.

In an effort to keep citizens informed following the storms, Kentucky Educational Television is producing, Storm Recovery: Special Report and you can hear it “live” on WEKU.

Gov. Steve Beshear, State Senator Tom Jensen (R-London), Representative Adam Koenig (R-Erlanger), and Senate Majority Floor Leader Robert Stivers will join two regional emergency response officials and a school psychologist in this program hosted by KET’s Bill Goodman.  They’ll discuss the storm damage across the state as well as current aid and recovery efforts.

This simulcast of the TV program begins at 7:00 pm Tuesday.

Super Tuesday Coverage

Ten states are holding nominating presidential primary elections or caucuses Tuesday.  NPR's coverage of Super Tuesday primary results begins at 8:00 pm. 

NPR's Robert Siegel will host the coverage of results from Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont and Virginia.
