Hawaiian Singer Stages One-Man Occupy Protest

RENEE MONTAGNE, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne. A popular singer of Hawaiian music staged a one-man Occupy protest at a weekend dinner hosted by President Obama. Makana was performing for the president and leaders of nations bordering the Pacific, who are meeting in Honolulu. As protests go, it was friendly. Before Makana launched into his protest song, he opened his jacket to reveal a t-shirt reading Occupy with Aloha. In any event, the Obamas appeared too busy to notice. This is MORNING EDITION.
