Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.
Lumber baron Wellington R. Burt left behind a fortune when he died in 1919, but his kids never saw the money. His will said the money would not be distributed until 21 years after his last grandchild died. The condition was finally met last month, and a dozen descendants split about $100 million. Nobody knows why he cut out his kids and grandkids, although news reports from the time say he didn't get along with his family.
