Opening Panel Round

PETER SAGAL, Host:

Right now, Panel, it's time for you to answer some questions about this week's news. Mo, Moammar Gadhafi, as you know, is not a popular figure in the US right now, but he's making an effort to win over western hearts and minds. He's campaigning for a special exhibition in the US to show off his softer side. Specifically what?

MO ROCCA: I believe it's his fashion.

SAGAL: Yes, it is.

(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: Moammar Gadhafi's fashion sense.

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

(SOUNDBITE OF APPLAUSE)

SAGAL: Mr. Gadhafi, he's lobbying the Metropolitan Museum of Art to stage a retrospective of Gadhafi's, quote, "four decades of superior dress sense."

(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: This sounds crazy, I know, but that's because he is.

(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: One of his aides sent a note to the museum and the New York Times expressing concern that Gadhafi's, quote, "3,400 items of breathtaking sartorial magnificence" might be destroyed in the current fighting in Libya.

BRIAN BABYLON: Hold on, breathtaking?

SAGAL: Breathtaking.

AMY DICKINSON: Wait, come on, the man can work an epaulet.

SAGAL: He is kind of over the top. He's the only world leader to face a dressing down from the UN Security Council and the judges on Project Runway.

(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)

ROCCA: I love his hip-hop stuff, you know, Fatwa Farm.

SAGAL: That was his.

(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)

DICKINSON: Oh wait, and doesn't he wear like...

ROCCA: And my favorite movie is "The Devil Wears Intafata."
