Avon Fires Executives In Bribery Probe

NPR's business news starts with an Avon investigation.

WERTHEIMER: The giant cosmetics company is conducting an internal investigation into possible bribery of foreign officials. This week, Avon reported to U.S. regulators that it had fired one of its top officials and three executives in its China office over bribes. And today, the Wall Street Journal reports the company is also looking into millions of dollars of questionable payments to officials in other countries, including Brazil and Japan.
