Right now, Panel, time for you to answer some questions about this week's news. Adam, the NFL draft is next week. And many analysts predict good things for TCU quarterback Andy Dalton. However, one NFL executive told Sports Illustrated he identified at least one weakness in Dalton's game, what?
ADAM FELBER: He doesn't exist?
AMY DICKINSON: He's a robot.
SAGAL: No, no, he does exist.
FELBER: He's a robot.
(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)
SAGAL: He's a successful college quarterback, Andy Dalton. But they're worried about one thing about him, because that may not work out well.
FELBER: He is not going into a career in professional football.
SAGAL: No. He doesn't want to play. No, that's not it.
FELBER: He's not interested.
SAGAL: Carrot Top suffers the same weakness.
FELBER: He's a redhead.
SAGAL: Exactly right.
(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)
FELBER: He's a ginger.
SAGAL: He's a ginger, as they say in Britain. NFL executives are notoriously nervous about quarterbacks, especially when they're betting the franchise on an unknown quantity. The unnamed executive said, quote, "Has there ever been a red haired quarterback in the NFL who's really done well? It sounds idiotic, but is there any way that could be a factor?"
Well sure, no, it makes sense, having red hair could affect one's ability to play pro football. There's the classic devil may care, whimsical nature of the redhead. He'll forget to play in order to run barefoot through the Astroturf in a sundress.
(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)
FELBER: It'll just be an endless stream of footballs on the conveyor and he'll wackily lose control.
DICKINSON: Wow.
SAGAL: Exactly.
(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)
SAGAL: He'll just stuff them in his mouth to hide them.
MO ROCCA: Doesn't that guy Brett Favre have red hair?
SAGAL: No. I'll check. He just texted me a picture of himself. Oh, wait a minute.
