Alaska To Ban Using Stun Guns On Animals

STEVE INSKEEP, host:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.

The constitution includes a right to bear arms. It does not specifically include a right to bear tasers, nor does it specifically allow the use of tasers on bears. All of this may be relevant to the Alaska Board of Game. It passed a statewide rule preventing the use of stun guns on animals. Board members say they want to prevent people from catch-and-release hunting where you stun the animal, pose for a photograph and walk away.
