Eastern Kentucky University has announced the hiring of a new women’s basketball coach.  The women’s program will be led by a Madison County native with almost three decades of head coaching experience in the Commonwealth.

EKU alumnus Greg Todd is making a move from one rival school to another.  Todd, who’s been the head coach at Morehead State for seven years, is stepping in to become the tenth head coach of Eastern’s women’s team.

During his time as a collegiate coach, including eight years at Transylvania, Todd has compiled a 269-161 win-loss record.  He also had a stellar high school coaching period leading Lexington Catholic to three state titles.  Todd takes over for Samantha Williams who left EKU after two seasons to become an assistant coach at Tennessee.

Greg Todd will be formally introduced as the new head coach of the Colonels Wednesday morning.
