Democratic candidate in Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race Amy McGrath used a video presentation to speak to her supporters after most results came in last night.

Results show the former Marine fighter pilot losing by more than 20 points to veteran Senator Mitch McConnell.  McGrath said a grassroots movement was built, even with defeat. “Although we didn’t get the result we wanted, the energy and optimism I saw in every corner of this state gives me so much hope for the future of our great Commonwealth,” said McGrath.

McGrath said she hoped the country can start to heal after what she termed a, quote, “ugly divisive four years.”  The 45 year old didn’t indicate on her video message if she intended to seek political office again in the future.
