A new exhibit that opened Wednesday at the Explorium of Lexington is designed to show kids that learning STEM skills – science, technology, engineering and math – can actually be fun. Colby Ernest, the Explorium’s executive director, said it’s their first new exhibit in a decade.
“It's the Marksberry Family Foundation engineering gallery and provides several opportunities for children to begin learning about STEM concepts.”
Ernest said visitors can make paper airplanes and launch them and use building blocks to build all sorts of things.
“And they can do anything from for buildings to roller coasters, to whatever their whatever, wherever their imagination takes them.”
The Explorium opened as the Lexington Children’s Museum in 1990.
