The Central Kentucky Job Club has online participants from 66 counties as well as people in 32 states. Fayette County Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent Diana Doggett told Lexington council members last week participation grew more than 300% during the pandemic. “We are really being recognized as a very resourceful place to come if you need help with strategizing your job search in today’s world. It’s all different. It’s not like it used to be,” said Doggett.
Doggett said the free program can benefit those unemployed, under-employed, or transitioning to another line of work. “We define success not only by getting the job, but if you’ve revised your resume, if you’ve got an interview, if you’ve practiced your interview, or you’ve got a LinkedIn,” explained Doggett.
Doggett urged city council members to spread the word among their constituents.
