A semi-tractor trailer crash at the Clays Ferry Bridge along interstate 75 northbound is expected to cause continued traffic delays. Madison County Deputy Sheriff Michael Scott said the mishap took place Wednesday evening. “To my understanding, according to the investigator, it ripped the rear axle underneath, off the trailer. And at that point the trailer went up on the wall, the outside wall northbound and rode the wall down Clays Ferry Bridge before it came to a final rest,” said Scott.

Traffic has been backed up for miles in Madison County. For those wishing to travel north toward Lexington, Scott said taking U.S. 25 or taking I-64 at Winchester are options. A representative with Kentucky State Police said it might be early Friday before travel returns to two lanes.
