Fayette County Schools Superintendent Demetrus Liggins says all students at Dixie Magnet Elementary will go to virtual learning the rest of this week. What’s being described as a “preemptive decision” is aimed at helping to curb any possible spread of COVID-19.
Dixie School plans to resume a normal, in-person schedule, on Monday. All students were asked to take home their Chromebooks and receive instruction via zoom.
The superintendent’s move came after several Dixie students and teachers developed symptoms and tested positive for the virus Tuesday.
