Two to five inches of rain fell over the weekend across eastern and southern Kentucky and more rain is in the forecast for later this week.

Flood warnings have been issued in some of the same counties still recovering from historic floods that hit earlier in March. National Weather Service meteorologist Dustin Jordan says as much as two inches of rain is possible on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“So it may keep some of the rivers in flood stage a little bit longer, but for the most part, not expecting a great amount of impacts at this point,” Jordan said.

For those who live close to rivers, Jordan says it’s a good idea to keep weather radios nearby over the next few days.
