The Lexington police department announced Friday the launch of a public survey.  It focuses on generating feedback from residents and local businesses.

Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers says the survey is another opportunity for citizens to provide feedback on officers and the department as a whole.  Respondents will be asked for their opinions on how the department treats people and its effectiveness in solving crime.

Other questions cover homelessness, mental illness, and the police department budget.  The survey site at www.lexington-pd.org will remain open until November first.  Weathers says survey responses will help the police department evaluate initiatives and policies.

Results will be provided to the police department and shared with city leaders.?
