Fleming County Public Health Director Stephanie Fryman said her county has seen a slow downward trend in Coronavirus cases. The northeast Kentucky county Thursday reported one of the lowest daily averages of cases in the state at 4.4. Fryman said with 461 days of coronavirus registered, health officials and community members would like to see the reduction in cases continue long-term. “I think we’re all ready to just kind of move on and hopefully know that we’re not going to not ever be without COVID, but we just feel like, you know, that as long as it’s contained. That would be our best goal at this point is just containment,” said Fryman.
Fryman looks for vaccinations to stay strong through the end of the year. The Fleming County health official noted final guidelines on boosters and pediatric immunizations could come anytime. “We have papers drawn and we’re waiting to see what their full recommendations are before we actually put out to all the health departments across the state,” noted Fryman.
The COVID observations, Fryman said, are some of the lowest in several months.
