Lexington's Christ Church Cathedral to hold prayer for peace

Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington will hold a prayer for peace Wednesday evening.
Rev. Carol Wade says the time felt right for the event, from the ice and snow that’s affected life in central Kentucky to the recent violence and tensions across the nation and the world.
All are welcome, Wade said.
"So you don't need to be a person of faith, or you can have deep faith. You don't need church background," Wade said. "We simply are creating space for our community to come together to light candles, to remember our shared humanity in a time when a lot of people are feeling anxious and divided."
Special guests include poet and bestselling author Silas House, Rev. Mark Van Koevering, the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington, the American Spiritual Ensemble, and the Christ Church Cathedral Choir.
The service begins at 7 p.m. at 166 Market Street in Lexington. The cathedral will be open to prayer from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
