Governor Beshear announces awards totaling $110 million for school districts across Kentucky.

Governor Andy Beshear has announced awards totaling $110 million for school districts across Kentucky.
The money is for help with facility renovations and new construction projects across 11 school districts.
Ryan Clark is the superintendent of Bardstown Independent Schools. That district received more than $21.5 million. Clark said some of the money will be used to renovate Bardstown High School.
"The high school was originally constructed in 1958. It's situated right in downtown Bardstown. It is a historic and beloved fixture of our town. Generations of families have graduated from our high school, and our high school is in desperate need of much-needed renovations,” he said.
Bardstown will also be using funds to move work forward on the city's middle school and career and technical education center.
Brian Creasman is the superintendent of Fleming County Schools. His district is set to receive nearly $8 million. He said they secured the funding due to the condition of two elementary schools in the county.
“One was the last coal-burning school in Kentucky, the other had a boiler that was failing, which created at the same time, a big financial burden for the district,” he said.
Creasman said the money will fund the new Flemingsburg Elementary School and expand a career and technical lab expansion at Fleming County High School.
