A strong cold front will approach Kentucky today and tonight. The front will bring high winds this afternoon and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight, according to the National Weather Service. Winds of 25 to 35 mph are possible this morning with gusts of 40 mph or more this afternoon. This could cause problems for high-profile vehicles on roadways.In addition, a line of thunderstorms will develop along the cold front and track from west to east during the afternoon and evening, the Louisville NWS office said. Damaging winds are the main threat.
In Eastern Kentucky, high winds will diminish shortly after sunset, according to the Jackson NWS office.
