Patchy to widespread frost is expected late tonight through daybreak on Tuesday in Eastern Kentucky, according to the National Weather Service office at Jackson. Light winds and clear skies over Eastern Kentucky will cause temperatures tonight to drop to between 32 and 37 degrees. Frost will develop tonight over most of Eastern Kentucky and continue through early Tuesday morning. In areas near rivers or lakes, fog might occur instead of front, the weather service said. Areas away from water will see more widespread frost.
Sensitive vegetables, fruits and flowers could be damaged by the front. Be prepared to take the steps to protect sensitive outdoor vegetation.
Meanwhile, the weather service office in Paducah said areas of frost will be possible tonight - mainly north of a line from Van Bureau, Mo. to Vienna, Ill. on to Calhoun, Ky., in McLean County.
