Eastern Kentucky University’s men’s basketball team has been projected to finish fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference this season.
Pre-season rankings and player recognitions came Tuesday during the conference Media Day event.
Head coaches and media relations directors tabbed EKU to finish fourth out of 12 OVC schools.
Belmont is the pre-season favorite to take the league title. Jacksonville State, the defending conference champion, got the number two nod and Murray State was picked to finish third.
Eastern junior forward Nick Mayo and sophomore guard Asante Gist have been named to the Pre-season All Ohio Valley Conference Team. For the first time, the Media Day event was held in Evansville, the site of the OVC tournament in March.
The Colonels open the regular basketball season November tenth against Rice in Houston.
