In a brief pre-recorded update Tuesday afternoon Governor Andy Beshear announced 562 new coronavirus cases in Kentucky. That brings the total number of cases in the state to 35,793.
Gov. Beshear also announced that eight more deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, 783 Kentuckians have died from the virus.
The positivity rate in Kentucky as of Tuesday afternoon is 5.87%.
Governor Beshear cancelled Tuesday’s live update as a precautionary measure because he said he was not feeling well. Beshear and his family were tested for COVID-19 and their tests came back negative.
