275* Coronavirus Cases reported in Kentucky Monday

Citing a technical glitch with the reporting software that Kentucky uses, Governor Andy Beshear announced an "artificially low" number of coronavirus cases in the state. During Monday afternoon's coronavirus update Gov. Beshear announced 275 new cases of the virus. However, Beshear said the actual number of cases could be north of 300. Calling the error inexcusable, Beshear said that accurate case numbers will be announced in the coming days.

Governor Beshear announced that two more Kentuckians have died from COVID-19, bringing that total to 775. The positivity rate in the state as of Monday afternoon is at 5.71%.

Governor Beshear and Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman also announced a new recommendation for schools. The governor's office is recommending that schools do not begin in-person classes until September 28.
