WEKU is adding new programs to the schedule beginning May 2

  • The Daily from the New York Times moves to 6p weekdays.
  • Science Friday begins Friday May 6 from 2-4 p.m. Hosted by Ira Flatow, Science Friday is a national call-in program that covers the outer reaches of space to the tiniest microbes in our bodies.  Science Friday is the source for entertaining and educational stories about science and technology.  Note: With the new schedule, Think and Fresh Air will air Monday – Thursday at 2 p.m.
  • Freakonomics Radio airs Sunday at 7 p.m.  Freakonomics began as a book, which led to a blog, a documentary film, more books, a pair of pants, and in 2010, a podcast called Freakonomics Radio. Hosted by Stephen J. Dubner, it became and remains one of the most popular podcasts in the world, with a reputation for storytelling that is both rigorous and entertaining.  Freakonomics radio replaces the Sunday 7 p.m. rebroadcast of Inside Appalachia.
