A Costume Fundraiser Planned at the Kentucky Theater

An official kick off for a one and a half million dollar fundraising campaign for a downtown Lexington landmark is scheduled this evening.  A birthday celebration is planned for the Kentucky Theater as it celebrates 90 years downtown.  Guests are encouraged to come wearing a costume in tribute to their favorite movie character or movie era.  A segment of the documentary ‘The Kentucky Theatre’ will be screened.  Those attending will be given the opportunity to make a recording of their memories of the Kentucky Theater.  A charitable fund has been established to support refurbishing.  Participants at the celebration will have an opportunity to purchase seats in their name and a commemorative poster.  All proceeds go toward the theater fundraising.
