1,738 New Coronavirus Cases Reported in Kentucky Saturday Oct. 24

Governor Andy Beshear reported 1,738 new coronavirus cases in Kentucky Saturday.  Beshear called today's virus total, 'frightening'. 8 deaths attributed to the virus were also reported.  That brings the state's coronavirus death toll to 1,404.  The positivity rate rose to 5.63%

“We've got to do better, and on Monday we'll be talking about new recommendations to counties that are in the red. We've got to tamp down these cases. The more cases, the more people that end up in the hospital and the more people die,” Governor Beshear said.

Governor Beshear also announced today that he and his family continue to test negative for the virus and are out of quarantine.  Beshear and his family went into isolation after one of his security detail became infected with the virus about two weeks ago.
