812 New Coronavirus Cases Reported in Kentucky Sunday Oct. 18

Governor Andy Beshear reported 812 new coronavirus cases in Kentucky Sunday. Of the new cases, 116 were reported in children under 19 years old and the youngest case was listed as a one month old infant. 5 deaths attributed to the virus were also reported.  That brings the state's coronavirus death toll to 1,317.

State Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack said Kentuckians need to be vigilent about preventing virus spread.  "We are in a once-in-a-century global pandemic. Lives are continuing to be affected and lives are being lost to this virus,” said Dr. Stack. “Each Kentuckian has to do their part to limit the spread: socially distance, wear masks and practice good hand hygiene.”
