During a prerecorded coronavirus update Friday afternoon Governor Andy Beshear announced 1,059 new cases of coronavirus in Kentucky, bringing the state total to 78,456.
Governor Beshear also announced eight new deaths, bringing that total to 1,242.
The positivity rate in Kentucky is at 4.32% as of Friday afternoon.
