Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen Market Day

Kentucky’s creativity and fall splendor will blend to create the perfect day out during the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen’s Fall Market Day in Berea. Admission to this wonderful day out for the family event is free.
This one-day event will feature the works of Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen members. Guild members must meet strict standards for quality before being accepted, so you can be sure you are getting the very best handcrafted creations Kentucky has to office. There will be beautiful pottery, fine woodworking, inspiring paintings, practical and ornate baskets, stunning jewelry, and much more. You know it’s never too early to pick up some great Christmas gifts!
Guild has also invited a number of the area’s up and coming artists to show off their talents. In an exciting new partnership, several booths will feature members of the Sheltowee Artisans Guild based in Somerset. Additionally, the works of Berea Community High School’s art department will also be on display.

In all, there will be over 50 booths, entertainment, and plenty of fall décor to take in while enjoying a free day out with friends and family. Whether you’re a fan of art, autumn, or both the day will feature something for everyone. Other activities for guests will include:

• A hands-on printmaking booth
• Face painting
• Demonstrations
• Tours of Berea College Student Crafts
• Booth awards for best fall theming
• Fresh kettle corn and pork rinds made on site

The Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen is the oldest statewide organization working to promote and preserve the commonwealth’s creative talents. Through educational outreach and public events, the Guild works to maintain Kentucky art and craft as a viable economic engine while fostering the state’s next generation of creative talent.
The event’s host and presenting sponsor is the Log House Craft Gallery, the premier showplace for Berea College Student Crafts. Built in 1917, the Log House Craft Gallery is the oldest and largest craft gallery in Berea. The Log House has many spacious rooms to explore. You will find treasures from Berea College Crafts as well as other regional crafts, literature and more.
Market Day will take place from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, at the Log House Craft Gallery lawn, 200 Estill Street in Berea.
