Kentucky Holiday Gas Prices Expected To Be Lower Than National Average

Even during a time when travelling out of state is not recommended, increased traffic is likely this weekend along many Kentucky roadways.  Gas prices will remain at a favorable level for Labor Day Holiday travelers.

Triple A says the national gas price average at 2.23 is the lowest for the September holiday in four years.  While gas prices across most of the country have ticked up following Hurricane Laura, the average price at the pump in Kentucky has fallen and landed at 2.07.

In Lexington, the average is even lower at 2.02, which is almost 20 cents cheaper than last Labor Day weekend.  AAA Bluegrass Public and Government Affairs Manager Lori Weaver Hawkins said the majority of requests in Lexington have been for travel guidance to western states and national parks rather than the typical theme park destinations.?
