Kentucky Tourism Raising Its Google Visibility

parks.ky.gov

Kentucky is launching the first state-wide cooperative program aimed at increasing the visibility of destinations within Google’s search and travel planning products.

That’s according to Kentucky Tourism Commissioner Kristen Branscum, who says the connection will help boost Kentucky content. “We have the opportunity now to hopefully capture more of this travel economy and these dollars that people have and want to travel with because if they’re going to google and we can get Kentucky up their first we have a much better chance of getting people that we probably never have before,” said Branscum.

The new cooperative program is offering participating Kentucky destinations the opportunity to receive a consumer search behavior analysis, baseline audit of the destination within Google products, and a visual content review.

The State Department of Tourism and Miles Partnership, a strategic marketing company, hosted free workshops called Google My Business in three Kentucky cities in June.
